xNeomea strawberry
(Geladen als: Neoregelia sarmentosa)
Fotograaf: Eric Gouda
Opmerking: This plant was in a collection in Germany with the name Aechmea sarmentosa and in fact it is an Aechmea, but which one? (Verzonden: brom-l@nic.surfnet.nl)

  • Determinatie (5618): Uncle Derek (2010-04-19) =XNeomea unknown hybrid - The inflorescencee looks odd and there are no pedicels. I guess that an Aechmea was mother hence the name but I doubt the Neo sarmentosa because it does not blush at anthesis. Seems to be another case of the hybridist not analysing his results. (Verzonden: brom-l@nic.surfnet.nl)
  • Determinatie (5618): Dutch Vandervort (2010-04-19) =x Neomea strawberry - looks a lot like x neomea strawberry which used to be fairly common in Souhern California -- perhaps dating back to Ed Hummell (Verzonden: brom-l@nic.surfnet.nl)
