Habitat: Terrestrial in lowland rainforests of the Coast.

Etymology: In honor of the Austrian botanist Dr. Walter Till (1956-), specialist in the Bromeliaceae, professor of botany at the University of Vienna and Curator of the Vienna University Herbarium (WU), Austria.
