Distribution: BRAZIL; Pernambuco; Alagoas,

Habitat: Large epiphytic and saxicolous populations of A. werdermannii were found at the type locality, especially in the forest sector facing the humid southeast trade winds., 1000 m. Elev.

Phenology: Flowering is from December to January and the flowers are pollinated by hummingbirds.
