Distribution: BRAZIL; Rio de Janeiro,

Habitat: to 1,600 m. Elev.

Etymology: This species was named in honor of the Russian Counselor von Scheremetiew, whose garden was one of the most beautiful and diversified in Russia, located in Lasarew near Nischi (Reitz, 1983).

Phenology: It flowers from December to March.
