- DISTRIBUTION & HABITAT
This species is endemic to the Atlantic slope forest of Rio de Janeiro state. It grows from near sea level on the forested slopes of the ciry of the same name to altitudes of ca. 1,600 m, in Nova Friburgo. The largest populations of this species are concentrated in Tijuca National Park and Serra dos Orgaos National Park. Although it is common in these areas, it is rather sparsely distributed in rhe lower forest layers, mainly on the forest floor and on rocks. —See Leme 2000a
