Etymology: Nidularium meeanum was named in honor of renowned Botanical artist Margaret Mee ( 1909-1988) whose indisputable genius led to the portrayal of numerous Atlantic forest bromeliads, including many new species.

Phenology: flowers beginning in November and ending in March
