DISTRIBUTION & HABITAT
The most characteristic populations of N. meeanum are concentrated in the area between Mangaratiba and Parati in Rio de Janeiro state. But this species ranges all the way to Cananeia on the southern coast of Sao Paulo, near the border with Parani. Farther inland, there is one record for the Bocaina de Minas region, in Minas Gerais. So this taxon is found from sea level to altitudes over 1,000 m, as an epiphyte in the understory of the Atlantic slope forest.
