Pitcairnia barbatostigma Leme & A.P.Fontana |
Distribution: BRAZIL; Espirito Santo
Habitat: rupicolous on sun-exposed granitic surfaces or in sites slightly shaded by semideciduous forest in inselbergs, 300-500 m. Elev.
Etymology: The completely unusual ornamentation of the stigma of P. barbatostigma, with its long fimbriate-barbate stigmatic lobes with densely arranged white trichomes (Figs. 4, 5E, 6G), inspired the name of this new species.
