Taxonomic Change:
- Andrieux 58 (type of Tillandsia benthamina var. andrieuxii Mez) was included in the protolog with the note that it differs from the other specimen cited. In Baker 1889 the specimen has been removed from this species and petal color (violet in the protolog) has changed to greenish white or lilac. Andrieux 58 not found in Baker 1889! —See Baker 1889 p. 199
