- The living holotype descendant (cult. E. Leme 6095) is cultivated in the collection of the Refúgio dos Gravatás, in Teresópolis, Rio de Janeiro. This new species is a typical inhabitant of the “Campos Rupestres” of Chapada Diamantina, where it is rupiculous in full exposed sites in the subshruby vegetation, forming small to medium groups of plants. —See Pereira 1971
