- HABITAT AND DISTRIBUTION: it is a species with endemic distribution that is restricted to the type locality, relict of local forests, located in the central part of the Dept. of Antioquia, high basin of the river Medellin, which is located in the Andean region (Colombian central mountain range) and in the subregion well-known as 'macizo antioqueno'. The vegetation that dominates this region is characteristic for very humid low mountain forest (ESPINAL, 1964). —See Betancur 1995
