Abstract:—A new species of Bromeliaceae from the semideciduous submontane forests of Bahia (Brazil) is described and commented: Pseudaraeococcus serranensis R.A. Pontes, E.H. Souza & Versieux. This species is morphologically related to and occurs in sympatry with Pseudaraeococcus lageniformis (R.A.Pontes & Versieux) R.A.Pontes & Versieux, being distinguished from the latter by the infundibuliform tank, metallic blue elliptical ovary, densely lepidote floral bracts, and apiculate and winged sepals.
