New Species of the Genus Racinaea (Bromeliaceae) from Ecuador

Abstract:—One new species belonging to the genus Racinaea (Bromeliaceae) from Ecuador is described and illustrated. The new species Racinaea neillii (subfamily Tillandsioideae) from the province of Zamora-Chinchipe in the Cordillera del Cóndor region of southeastern Ecuador is related to Racinaea tetrantha (Ruiz & Pavón) M.A. Spencer & L.B. Smith. Distinguishing characteristics between these species are provided.
