Abstract:—A revision of Encholirium has revealed two new species from rock outcrops in Brazil’s cerrado vegetation and in the transition from cerrado to caatinga vegetation. Encholirium eddie-estevesii has flowers with short pedicels, slightly asymmetrical sepals, and petals that are spotted purplish-wine and have incon spicuously crenulate margins. Encholirium maximum is very distinctive because of its large inflorescence, subsessile flowers, slightly asymmetrical and obovate sepals. and yellow petals
