Ananas nanus (L.B.Sm.) L.B.Sm  diagnose
plant flowering 5–10 dm high. leaves: blade arching, to 7 dm long, antrorsely spinose-serrate. inflorescence: peduncle erect, very slender but not fragile at apex; syncarp few-flowered, ca 4 cm long at maturity with a very large apical coma. flowers: sepals 6 mm long; petals 15 mm long. fruits: seeds few or none.
