- Identification (6397): HEL (2011-03-03) =Tillandsia cf salmonea
- Check this sp for a match. (Sent: brom-l@science.uu.nl)
- Add Note (6397): Eric Gouda (2011-03-03) - That is what I thought, but the spikes are very short and much wider than a normal salmonea
- Add Note (6397): Bill Holliday (2011-03-03) - That is an intriguing possibility. I hadn't thought of T. salmonea, as I thought it to be endemic to Chiapas. The inflorescence has looked like this for two months now, but I have yet to see an actual flower- I will post another shot when it happens.
I also thought this plant bore a similarity to the dried specimen of T. ortgiesiana pictured in the FCBS website. (Sent: brom-l@science.uu.nl) - Add Note (6397): Uncle Derek (2011-03-05) - When looking for species records on fcbs.org it is recommended you check the species database first which then links to the photo file. Why? In this case it shows why we have shown a herbarium specimen! (Sent: brom-l@science.uu.nl)
- Add Note (6397): Bill Holliday (2011-03-05) - Ok, it definitely is not anything like T. occulta (or T. ortgiesiana, then.) Another good mystery. (Sent: brom-l@science.uu.nl)
