- Add Note (10159): Uncle Derek (2012-07-30) - While I agree it is in the T. utriculata complex there has been recent developments here where Juan Pinzon recently completed his Doctorate. Anyone who looked at this complex in the past could not fail to be confused. Here we have rationalisation with several changes in concepts. These will take several months before they are published. Patience is a virtue! (Sent: brom-l@science.uu.nl)

- 1 of several things that have been refererd to T. makoyana. Probably undescribed. (Sent: brom-l@science.uu.nl)
- Add Note (10159): Juan P. Pinzon (2012-07-31) - Dear all, this has to be T. comitanensis Ehlers, but it is difficult to say it from this photo. Tillandsia comitanensis has white petals and very thick, bright red rachises, but it could also be T. cucaensis (green petals and slender, pink rachises). It looks more like T. comitanensis. - Identification (10159): HEL (2012-08-01) =Tillandsia
- Habit also resembles T. pinicola T. cucaensis much more spreading, lower elevation. I suspect this is the same as Costa Rican "makoyana'. (Sent: brom-l@science.uu.nl)
- Add Note (10159): Juan P. Pinzon (2012-08-01) - Hi HEL, Indeed, it resembles T. pinicola as well, however it has violet petals and smaller floral bracts than T. comitanensis, which has white petals. Unfortunately that cannot be seen from the photo... I guessed that it is T. comitanensis because there are other reports of it in the highlands of Honduras (1200-2300). Tillandsia pinicola is only known from a small area of lowland pine woods in the Tehuantepec area. The identity of T. cucaensis was confused before, I sent you by mail an article where we clarified its status. If you didn't receive it I can send it again to you. Costa Rican "makoyana" is the real T. cucaensis. (Sent: brom-l@science.uu.nl)

Girth of the plant: 45 cm.

Leaf at the base 11,5 cm wide. (Sent: brom-l@science.uu.nl) - Identification (10218): Reino Koopmans (2012-11-07) =Tillandsia comitanensis
