Note: Received from 'Nablung' (Michael __?) in a trade 15 years ago. Plant leaves up to 36" (91.4cm) long, inflorescence is 5" (12.7) from bottom to top. Spines up to 3/16" (.5cm). (Sent: brom-l@science.uu.nl)

- Identification: Charles Dills (2011-04-01) =Aechmea distichantha
- I have Ae. distichantha blooming right now and they look similar. This one has much more intense color so it probably has better conditions or it is a different variety than my v. distichantha.
Since he got it in trade and it has been growing for him for 15 years, this has to be a way down the line pup from the original and may have been corss-pollinated by something that flies or crawls. (Sent: brom-l@science.uu.nl)
