- Identification: Eric Gouda (2010-02-03) =Aechmea emmerichii
- See notes by Harry Luther in J. Bromeliad Soc. 40:155d about this group of Aechmea (he doesn\'t mention Ae.callichroma, which is close to Ae. emmerichii). All those mentioned species are depicted in Baensch, but I doubt all those are named right. (Sent: brom-l@nic.surfnet.nl)
- Add Note: Ludwig Buckup (2010-02-03) - That is what I identified as being Aechmea emmerichii: see My plants are blooming presently. (Sent: brom-l@nic.surfnet.nl)
- Add Note: john Irvine (2010-02-09) - This is not a very good photo for identification, but observing the short dense and twisted spikelets; Ae callichroma could be a possible identification. Derek Butcher has noted in his article on the old gravasias, the affinity between Ae. Mulfordii and the plant we in Florida call Ae. callichroma. It is a beautiful, variable and contentious plant.
