Distribution: Ecuador: Zamora Chinchipe

Habitat: Epiphyte in misty, cloudy and cool montane forest on the Amazonian side of the Andes., 2200-2500 m. Elev.

Etymology: This Racinaea has been named in honour of Nelson Jaramillo Díaz (1984, -), born in Loja, Ecuador. Forestry engineer graduated from the National University of Loja, who conducted his undergraduate research in the Emission of Methane through Bromeliad Tanks, presently at the San Francisco Research Station, in Zamora Chinchipe, Ecuador. He is currently studying Bromeliaceae in southern Ecuador.
