Distribution: BRAZIL: Rio Grande do Sul; URUGUAY: Tacuarembó

Habitat: grows on rocky outcrops, on shallow soils (neosoils) and clayey soils with basaltic origin, ca 220 m. Elev.

Etymology: The specific epithet “pampeana” refers to the Pampa Biome, or Pampean province, a phytogeographic region where this species was discovered.
