Distribution: BRAZIL: Bahia
Habitat: form dense groups growing on a thin layer of organic matter deposited on rocky outcrops in inselberg areas, 500-600 m. Elev.
Etymology: The name chosen for this new species is a reference to the county of Brejões, state of Bahia, Northeastern Brazil, where this it was discovered.
