Distribution: BRAZIL: Rio de Janeiro

Habitat: epiphyte in dense rain forests, 100-550 m. Elev.

Etymology: The specific epithet is a tribute to Zilda Helena Deschamps Bernardes, who along with her husband, Jurandir Bernardes, provided work, support, and encouragement worth remembering at the Herbário Barbosa Rodrigues (HBR) in Santa Catarina State.

Phenology: The species is flowering between November and December; fruiting from January to August.
