Habitat: a terrestrial species from the comparatively drier transitional vegetation of deciduous Atlantic Forest

Etymology: The epithet of this new species is a reference to color contrast of the green floral bracts and sepals with the red axis of the inflorescence and the peduncles and rachis of the branches.
