Espejo, A. R. López- Ferrari, J. Ceja, A. Mendoza R. & G. Carnevali 6872 (holotype: UAMIZ: staminate plant).

Distribution: MEXICO: Oaxaca, Puebla

Habitat: Terrestrial in tropical deciduous forests, 1400-1900 m. Elev.

Etymology: The specific epithet makes reference to the large size of the plants that at anthesis reach up to 2 m high.

Phenology: In flower from July to November and in fruit in November.
