Ramirez-Amezcua, V. W. Steinmann y J. M. Porter 969 (Holotipo: UAMIZ; isotipos: ARIZ, IEB, MEXU).

Habitat: 2550 m. Elev.

Etymology: The species epithet refers to Yocupitzia Ramírez Amezcua, co-worker of the Regional Center of Bajio del Instituto de Ecologia who collected plants of this remarkable species for the first time.
