Distribution: Ecuador: Azuay, Loja, Zamora-Chinchipe

Habitat: epiphyte in remnant trees in pastures and Andean Forest, 2400-3300 m. Elev.

Etymology: The epithet is a combination of that of the putative parents, T. stenoura and T. complanata

Phenology: Tillandsia x stenlanata flowers the year around.
