Etymology: We dedicated it to Mr. Eugene Vallerand, gardener with Mr. Carcenac, much known by his love for plants, principally for the Gesneriads, that he especially loves, following in his brother’s foosteps, Mr. Jules Vallerand, the clever horticulturist of Bois-de-Colombes (Asnieres), also well and advantageously known in the horticultural world.
