Habitat: epiphytes in dry thickets with columnar cacti and oaks, in arid areas, 1400-2450 m. Elev. img

Etymology: Tillandsia tehuacana was named in reference to the type locality of the species, in the Valley of Tehuac´an, Puebla

Phenology: Flowering occurs in April and May. Fruiting occurs in July, August, and December.
