Distribution: Guatemala; Honduras; Mexico: Chiapas, Oaxaca

Habitat: epiphytic in forests of oak, in subhumid temperate areas, 1050–2100 m. Elev.

Etymology: The epithet refers to the name of the nearest city to the type locality, Comitán, Chiapas.

Phenology: Flowering occurs between February and June, fruit production between April and May, August, or between October and January.
