Distribution: BRAZIL; Pernambuco, Alagoas

Habitat: epiphytic, 700 m. Elev.

Etymology: The specific epithet "catendensis" refers to the localities where the species was originally collected in the "Catende Complex", located on the border between Pernambuco and Alagoas. This area is considered to be of extreme importance for the conservation of biological diversity (MMA, 2002), and priority conservation measures that guarantee effective protection are recommended (see Chapter 4)
