Habitat: an epiphyte in the Atlantic forest, 800 m. Elev.

Etymology: This new species is named in honor of bromeliad collector Sandra Linhares. She has contributed a great deal of botanical material for cultivation, which is slowly revealing many new taxa of Brazilian Bromeliaceae.
