Habitat: saxicolous on basalt rock walls,, 1800-1900 m. Elev.

Etymology: Dedicated to Rudolf Wuelfinghoff, Pforzheim, a German amateur botanist who has made intensive field studies in Mexico for many years and who collected the holotype

Phenology: Flowering time: February-April.(Northern Hemisphere)
