Habitat: saxicolous on rocky areas or immersed in areas of tropical dry forest or pineoak, in arid or temperate subhumid areas, 1600–2300 m. Elev.
Etymology: The specific epithet refers to the city of Fresnillo, Zacatecas, the locality of the holotype.
Phenology: Phenology. Flowering occurs in April and June, fruiting in August.
