Distribution: COLOMBIA. Antioquia,

Habitat: 2700 to 3300 m. Elev.

Etymology: the epithet refers to the pale yellow colour of the petals. The yellow colour in the corolla is not often found in Puya, being represented in only some 14 species of the genus, distributed principally toward the south of the continent, not one of them in Colombia.
