Habitat: 1,200 to 1,500 m. Elev.

Etymology: The epithet N. brigadeirensis refers to the locality where this species is found (Serra do Brigadeiro), plus the Latin suffix ensis, meaning "belonging to a certain place."

Phenology: Flowering is from October to February.
