Distribution: BRAZIL; Alagoas,

Etymology: Based on the addition of the suffix "anum" (= belonging to a certain place), the name of C. alagoanum means "from the State of Alagoas".

Phenology: The species flowers between December and January, during the dry season and is probably pollinated by hummingbirds.
