Distribution: BRAZIL; Bahia, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, PARAGUAY; ARGENTINA;

Habitat: in the Atlantic Pluvial Forest and in the restinga forests, in the Cerrado and rupestral fields, to 1.100m altitude. Its distribution is in the interior and southern parts of Paraguay and Argentina (Smith & Downs 1979; Fontoura et al. 1991; Moura et al. 2007; Versieux & Wendt 2006). In Rio de Janeiro it occurs in the restinga forests and in lower montana and montana forests, at sea level to about 800 m altitude., 0-800 m. Elev.
