Distribution: MEXICO; COSTA RICA; PANAMA; COLOMBIA; ECUADOR; VENEZUELA;

Habitat: premontane rain forest and lower montane rain forest and possibly extends into the premontane wet forest, 700-1500 m. Elev.

Phenology: Flowering plants have been collected in February, April, May and July. Time of flowering apparently is population dependent, and for the species as a whole probably spans several months.
