Habitat: 3500-3700 m. Elev.

Etymology: The new species is named after the German-Bolivian project PROSANA (Proyecto de Seguridad Alimentaria-Nutricional en la Provincia de Arque), which tries to reach a sustainable development for the farmers in the province of Arque.

Phenology: The flowering period of Puya prosanae is November to February
