Distribution: VENEZUELA; Bolivar,

Habitat: 1150-1200 m. Elev.

Etymology: I take pleasure in naming this new Brocchinia for Dr. Amy Jean Gilmartin who introduced me to the Bromeliaceae beginning in 1981. It is a great honor to name this new species for a botanist whose interest and enthusiasm in the Bromeliaceae are well known.
