Distribution: BRAZIL: Bahia

Habitat: Terrestrial in the organic litter layer, under the shaded conditions provided by a well-preserved canopy of Dense Ombrophilous Atlantic Forest., ca 120 m. Elev.

Etymology: The name of this new species honors the Pataxó indigenous people. They belong to the Macro-Jê linguistic family and have a long history of resistance, facing challenges such as reclaiming their traditional lands and promoting the value of their culture since the 16th century.
