Distribution: BRAZIL. Minas Gerais:

Habitat: grows terrestrial in Campos Rupestres, on quartzitic rocky outcrops or in rock crevices with sandy soil, under intense solar radiation, 1100-1275 m. Elev.

Etymology: The epithet ‘deodorinae’ refers to the fictional character Diadorim, from the classic Brazilian novel Grande Sertão: Veredas by Guimarães Rosa.
