Racinaea viridis Aguirre-Santoro & Betancur |
Permanent URL
Distribution: Colombia: Boyacá
Habitat: epiphyte in the shaded parts of trees, 1700-1900 m. Elev.
Etymology: The specific epithet refers to the green color of the inflorescence of Racinaea viridis, which cannot be confused with the bright red inflorescence of R. fraseri
Phenology: Racinaea viridis has not been collected in flower, but the presence of floral buds and fully developed fruits on the type specimen collected in November, along with the presence of fruits only on the paratypes collected in April, suggest that flowering likely occurs between September and February, with fruiting beginning in November and extending thereafter
