Distribution: Colombia: Risaralda

Habitat: terrestrial or epiphytic in mountain forest, 1575–1750 m. Elev. img

Etymology: This species is named in honor of Jeffrey Kent, a well-known bromeliad collector and grower from Vista, California. Jeffrey has been growing and breeding Bromeliads since he graduated from UCSD in 1973. His father, Leonard Kent founded Kent’s Bromeliads. He and his brother Larry incorporated Kent’s Bromeliad Nursery Inc. in 1975

Phenology: Flowered in culture in October and November and the type specimen in December
