Distribution: BRAZIL: Rio de Janeiro

Habitat: epiphyte on the higher tree branches covered by well-preserved Atlantic Forest vegetation, ca 830 m. Elev.

Etymology: The name chosen for this new species is a direct reference to Ilha Grande, the place where it was discovered.
