Distribution: BRAZIL: Minas Gerais

Habitat: Epilithic species on quartzitic outcrops, forming small group of plants scattered in the Campos Rupestres, ca 1000 m. Elev.

Etymology: The name chosen for this new species is a explicit reference to the county of Montezuma, Minas Gerais state, where the type was found.
