Distribution: BRAZIL: Goiás
Habitat: terrestrial in dense low vegetation on rocky to sandy substrates (campo rupestre), 600-1148 m. Elev.
Etymology: The new species is named in honour of the co-discoverer and botanist João Larocca from Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil (Fig. 12).
Phenology: The plants were found at the end of November during the late flowering period. Mature fruits have not yet been found.
