Distribution: MEXICO: Chiapas

Habitat: saxicolous on rock formation on the slope of a low forested mountain, 200-300 m. Elev.

Etymology: The name of this new species is derived from the nearest place, the town of Chicoasén in the municipality of the same name north of the Río Grijalva.
