Etymology: The specific epithet honors Rosa María Fonseca Juárez, a botanical colleague and excellent friend, who has made important contributions to the knowledge of the flora and vegetation of the state of Guerrero, and in recognition of her constant work as editor of Flora of Guerrero, a project to which she has dedicated many years of her academic career

Phenology: Flowering occurs in June to August.
